Kahoku City is a located on the west side of Ishikawa Prefecture and faces the Sea of Japan. Visitors to Kahoku can check out various Shinto shrines scattered throughout the city. The city was one of the rest stations for travelers in the Kaga Domain during the Edo Period. and parts of the city boasts rows of buildings that bring that era to mind. The city also hosts various events throughout the year, including a winter food festival (Jan.–Feb.) and a cherry blossom fesitval (Apr.).
